2 more weeks

Omg. We only have 2 weeks left of this year and I can't wait. I'm so over this semester and ready for senior year. I've had so much going on later and I'll be ready for a somewhat stress free summer. Still have to work and take 2 classes. Yes I said 2 classes.  One of them.being anatomy. Why why why. I'm dreading retaking anatom. I'm hoping it isn't as bad the second time around but I'm worried since it's online. Oh well I will still survive. Maybe it'll be super easy online. Who knows. Oh and my tonsils are acting up again. Random but they hurt.

spring fling

Okay so I don't know if I am the only one dorky enough to go to the events held on campus, but today was the pride/spring fling.  They had free popcorn and snow cones, wax hands, mood bounce, spin ride, lots of tables with stuff, and then a brain scanning thing.  I, of course, went for the snow cones immediately...yum.  I walked around with Joe and Sammy and Pippa the pup.  Pippa is the cutest.  We all went on the spin round and basically two people sit on each side of a thing that looks like a seesaw and then you pull of handle bars and the force makes you spin hella fast.  Since there were only 3 of us, the worker hopped on and this guy was jacked.  We all saw his muscles and knew we were about to go very very fast.  Long story short, I'm still dizzy 20 minutes later.  Not sure I will ever do that again...

parkway

Last night I had so much fun hanging out with Joe.  We decided we wanted to go on a drive and ended up on the parkway.  We stopped at a fork in the road and just relaxed while watching the sky.  I was just hanging out on the side of the road with my head out the window...I looked ridiculous.  It was so nice just watching the clouds blow my in the moonlight.  I have not gone to the parkway in so long so it was very relaxing.  The sky was pretty clear and it was nice and cool outside.  Joe knows a lot of back roads to get to the parkway so it was cool ending up there coming from a dirt/gravel road.

uhhh

Okay so I am just snoozin away this morning when I am abruptly woken up to someone trying to open my bedroom door. I'm paranoid so I keep my door locked and thank god I did this morning. I have no idea who it was or why they would be trying to open my door at 7 in the morning. It wasnot my roommates and the apartment people have to give me a 24 hour warning and I never got that.  Hmm so that's pretty freakin creepy. Let's hope no one is secretly hiding in my apartment waiting for me to leave....

bobs burgers

im not sure if i have talked about bobs burgers yet but holy moly do i love that show.  honestly what is not to love about it? the family dynamic is on point and the humor is perfect.  netflix recently put a new season up and im not ashamed to admit that i have almost finished 22 episodes in just 3 days.  judge me but it is truly an awesome show.  i am about to watch another episode once i am finished with all of my homework! i really hope this week flies by because i am already over it but honestly i dont have that much coming up...well as far as i know...so i dont think it will be too bad.

methods section

so i thought i would be productive today and get a heads start on my methods section but i have absolutely no motivation and i just decided i wanted to make my blog one giant sentence so here i go...i hope this work...i think i already messed up but oh well; so i am really tired of having homework and what not and i was just staring at my methods section for a good fifteen minutes telling myself i was being productive but in reality i was doing absolutely nothing and it is so freakin hot in this lab--i went with Joe to a computer lab in rankin and it might actually be five million degrees in here but i could just be acting dramatic right now who actually knows?

Beach on my mind

I don't know about you guys but I only have one thing on my mind lately and that's the beach and summertime. I am so ready just to be done with this semester and have some relaxing time. I feel like this has been such a busy year for me just getting everything figured out and I'm so over it. Every year my family goes on a week beach trip to ocean isle beach and I'm tellin ya it's what keeps me sane. I absolutely love ocean isle and as soon as I step on the island I am immediately relaxed. Too bad I have to wait all the way til july! Oh well it'll keep me motivated to finish my year off strong.  I am just way too ready for it.

Sunday

Sunday was surprisingly so so so much fun. joes bosses at his job hold an annual employee cookout. This year they made it a pig pickin and there was homemade cornbread, cabbage, and chili. This was probably the best thing I have eaten in a long time. Then they brought out homemade blueberry and blackberry cobbler. Holy moly. Yum. It was soo amazing. The house was in the middle of the woods with the most beautiful view of the mountains. Also they had four wheelers...never been on one but man was it fun! I ate so much good food and had such a great time. Topped of my weekend.

Saturday

I just had the best saturday of my life...maybe not my life but close enough. My boyfriend is graduating this semester so I started off the day going and finding him a present. I'd let you guys know what it is but he knows about this blog and well ya never know. He's sneaky. Anyways so after that I met up with him on his lunch break and got chipotle.  It wasn't a great meal but whatever. So after I got a text from my friend asking her if I wanted to go on a bar crawl...uh yes. We only went to cilantros, the local, and portos but I had a great time catching up with her and my other friend nick. The weather was nice and I was feelin goooood.

sistas

I miss my little sisters so much. I'm so excited to be able to see them this weekend. I feel like I haven't seen them in years. Charlie is five and she is wild. It sucks being away from her when she is so young because I feel like I am missing out on so much in her life. One minute she's crawling and the next she is talking and running around. Kids grow up so fast. Haha I sound like a mom. Anyways, emma is 9 and she is the sweetest. She has the most calm soul I have ever met. She can be a bit emotional but it's all good. She's just sensitive.

spring cleaning

So I've had the busiest day. Class, work, and cleaning. My room and bathroom looked like a tornado blew through them. I can't remember the last time I cleaned them. So messy. I can't help it ugh. Anyways so I made myself start cleaning today so everything would be done by the time I would go home for easter break. I got my bathroom lookin so good but started to get a headache from the fumes...oops. I've been trying to air it out since I started cleaning but it seems nearly impossible sooo I'm thinking I'm not sleeping in my room tonight bc even with the windows open I can smell my bathroom cleaner.

monopoly

I have started to play monopoly...a lot. It's been pretty challenging so far but I'm literally playing right now and I hope I win. I just bought boardwalk. Wish me luck. I want someone to land on my propertY. My boyfriend is a sore loser so hopefully he doesn't lose too hard. He just bought some property I wanted. Jerk. He just bought park place. Are you kidding me. He is gonna get it. Just got sent to go and got 200 bucks. Woohoo. I wish it was the weekend already so I could just chill. Gosh I want to win so badl.

Formal

Yippee! Formal is this weekend..another thing to distract me from I actually should be doing. I wish life would just slow down for a little bit so I could catch up.  I am excited for my formal though. I have a really pretty purple dress that I have been excited to wear.  It's my favorite color. I have never seen my boyfriend all dressed up so I'm pretty excited for that too. I am kind of stressed though because I have to wrk the day of formal and then get all ready after very fast so awesome. Hopefully it'll be fun!

busy beeee

I've had so much going on I'm losing my mind. I feel like I am getting so behind with my school work and just forgetting to do common sense things. I've been busy working and trying to be on top of my school work but I'm not doing a very good job lately. The end of spring semester is always extremely busy for me and this year is no different. I'm hoping over Easter break I can get back on top of things before my life becomes even busier. I am just so ready for this year to be over already.

rain rain go away

Rain rain go away, come again NEVER. I am so over this nonsense. I want to have the warm sunshine again so I can just relax outside. The other day was so nice and I was able to toss the football around and just hang out at the greenway. I have just been in a very blah mood lately and I want to have good weather pick me back up. I'm just sitting waiting for my class to start. I'm so tired. I've been thinking a lot about grad school lately and actually starting to become more relaxed about it.  I got it woo.

Fitbit

okay guys i just got a fitbit and at first it was awesome. i loved it and was feeling a lot more active since i was a lot more aware of my steps, but it started to glitch. uhm what. i was so excited for it and then it just stops working? uh no sir.  it cost me a whopping 50 bucks! im not just wasting 50 bucks for something to stop working a few days later.  i need to return it to the store but i bought it at target back home and as everyone knows we do not have a target here.  i might have to resort to mailing it to my mom so she can return it because i dont know the next time i will be home.

I'm so hungry

I'm so so so so so hungry. I'm on antibiotics that I have to take 3 times a day and they make me so hungry but I just don't got the time! I've been going all day long and finally just now had the chance to sit down. I'm eating my favorite...mushroom ravioli from basils. You gotta try it.

So I had an interview today and forth icebreaker question they asked me if I could be any vegetable what would I be and why. Wanna know my response? "well I'm not a veggie person and never have been, so I wouldn't want to be one. I would want to be a fruit because I love fruit. So I'll choose a mango because they are fun and tropical and always yummy. Mangoes can be sweet or sour depending on the time you get them, just like me.....hahahha hopefully they like a sense of humor.

It's official

I am getting my tonsils out...I'm so freaking scared. I've never had a surgery that I can remember and the thought of getting an IV in is terrifying. It's scheduled for the very beginning of summer so I'll have a lot of time to recover. As of now I'm just on antibiotics to hopefully help my tonsils until the surgery. Definitely not what I wanted to hear from the doctors but I am happy to finally have a solution for the pain. On a brighter note, I'm back in boone! Being home for an extended period of time is a lot to handle having little sisters so I know being home for the recovery of this surgery is going to be an experience in its self.

another snow day

So I was not expecting this at all. Woke up this morning at my usual time to go to the library and work on some take home tests. Well instead I woke up to an email saying classes before 2 were canceled. Yay. I got an extension on my tests too. With all of my free time now I went to sunrise grille and got the best pancakes of my life. Red velvet with a sweet cream cheese topping. Holy moly. Already the highlight of my day. Now I need to get back on track and really start working on some homework because it is beginning to pile up and become overwhelming.

lost in the world of television

This time of year is especially exciting for television. Two of my favorite series are coming back on and I couldn't be more excited for both of them. I am, of course, speaking of the newest enstallments of Game of Thrones and House of Cards. If you haven't experienced these two shows yet, I highly recommend both. The acting is captivating, the language is beautiful and the story keeps you guessing. 

Update on my tonsils: they are currently the size of walnuts and hurt pretty badly right now. I'm going to try to head to health services when I get the chance bc they ain't feelin too hot.

Tonsils

okay so im pretty sure i need to get my tonsils removed. why why why.  last spring i had strep three times in one month and my tonsils never went back down to their normal size.  soo im sitting here in pain right now because my tonsils are acting up and hurting. i kid you not i can literally feel them in the back of my throat because they are so big. its very freaking irritating.  im hoping to go home this weekend to hit the docs office and hopefully ill be able to just get them removed eventually. yes, i know i shouldnt be sounding so excited about getting tonsils removed but i much rather have pain for a couple months from surgery than dealing with this forever. ugh.

snow day round 2

Woohoo another snow day! I really did not think I would have no classes today but what do ya know! The past 24 hours have been so so so much fun. I was hangin out with my boyfriend and his roommate, charlie, bc I got snowed in at their apartment and charlie decided to spin fire...yes I said spin fire.  As a hobby charlie spins these balls that are on fire and it is one of the coolest things to watch. We were outside of their apartment building and cars passing by stopped to take videos haha it was pretty funny. I later went inside to watch a lifetime movie on my Kindle, which was very enjoyable. Waking up to abother snowy day has filled me with so much happiness because I just love being outside in the snow. If it's cold it might as well snow too. I'm goin to walk to campus later to do some more homework! maybe I wont be the only one who decided to take the trek. We will see...

snow day

So here is my snow day post... 

It started on a great note, I had no class and no work...hollllla. I was able to go on campus and get some work done, which was really nice. My boyfriend and I went to harris teeter and stocked up on the necessities,  milk, eggs, bread, and wine. The store was packed and I got to see Caitlin in the freezer aisle. My mom was so worried she literally told me to but water bottles, flashlight, and a lighter and candles. After the store joe and I went to the animal facility on campus where he works and fed the bunnies...too cute. I hope this snow continues because I've been waiting for a real winter for a while. 

~Girl Time~

Today has been a huge improvement from yesterday.  I only had one class today so I have been able to just do work in the library and relax.  However, I was able to get lunch with my two good friends Elena and Julie.  I met the two of them over the summer at a country club we worked at.  We all hit it off immediately and have stayed friends since the summer.  I was so happy to just chill with them for a little and then we all went to the library to get some work done.  But hello does anyone know why its like 100000000000000 degrees in the library? i'm melting right now.

hahahhah i feel bad to laugh at this guy who was in the library near me but im just sitting there and all of a sudden hear this huge thud. turns out this guy leaned too far back in his seat and fell over. we made eye contact. it would have been awkward but he laughed it off.

StReSs

I have not been this stressed out in a long long time.  I have had so much going on lately and a ton of homework but of course my Internet has not been connecting at all. This made it a bit difficult to do my homework last night. Not even kidding that I am being forced to use my phone to make my blog post now. Why why why. Why must bad things happen to good people?! I missed the bus this morning too...that was my fault though. OH! And last night my fridge wasn't closed properly, so all of my food is now room temperature... ha ha ha.. 

Hopefully this week picks up because so far it is not looking promising. 

UGH, Monday

Today has been such a drab day.  I woke up not feeling too hot, so I didn't go to my first class but had to still go to work at noon.  It was only for a few hours, so I managed.  Right after, I came home, did dishes, went to charter, and started on my homework.  All was going pretty well until I realized I had an assignment I completely forgot about.  Awesome.  Guess who gets to stay up writing a paper...this girl.  So that really sucks.  

I really hope this week flies by because I am just not in the mood.  Honestly I could fast forward to Sunday because I have to work all day Saturday.  I am just so over it,

reddit

I dont know if you guys ever go on reddit, but i do. a lot. Reddit is a weir online forum thing that jut has posts about anything. there are subreddits that include topics about SLPs that have actually been really helpful. so im going to start using this whenever i type on my blog.

I really need to learn new recipes because my old ones are just not cutting it anymore. I want to find some good soups to make but the ones i have tried out have been stinkers.

anyways, so yesterday I bought myself a powerball lottery ticket because it was up to $317 million...i would love to win that. i started talking with Joe about it and what I would do if I actually did win. My life would become so much less stressful. I would finish my undergrad degree then take time off to travel. I would definitely give my parents a lot of mula because they have given me so much in my life. I would put money away for my little sisters college fund and probably just chill. Life wouldnt be a million times better but it would be so much more carefree and less stress. I really did convince myself..only if...

Annabelle

I absolutely love scary movies. I have been watching them since about the age of 5 (no joke).  My first scary movie that I can remember is A Nightmare on Elm Street.  Since I started pretty young, most movies do not scare me.  There has been the occasional movie here and there (The Ring, Strangers) that really spooks me, but I usually get over it.  However, I recently watched the movie, Annabelle.  If anyone has ever seen The Conjuring and remembers the beginning scenes with the haunted doll, this is what Annabelle is based off of.  I went into watching the movie thinking it would be a fun time but no. This was one of the most scary movies I have seen in a while.  It didn't help that I was watching with my boyfriend and he was purposely trying to scare me during the movie.  I didn't know how I was going to sleep that night being so scared but I did eventually fall asleep...no nightmares thank god.  

If anyone decides that watching this movie is a good idea then you better be ready to be scared out of your mind.  Oh, and even though it was terrifying, I thought it was executed very well.

Update on ma life

Sooooo, a lot has been going on in my life lately--hardly enough time to even write on here.  So I have worked a few shifts at my new job at basil's and I love it! it has been pretty simple so far and I don't think I have messed up too bad just yet.  haha I hope I am able to get more comfortable with it as time goes on...

Yesterday, I drove home to charlotte with my boyfriend for a superbowl party at my house.  It was a lot of fun and I definitely went into a food coma...there was a chocolate fountain *died and went to heaven* Anyways, it was really awesome seeing my friends and family even if it was just for a short amount of time.

This is a bit random but I have wanted to mention my love for the band, Kings of Leon.  They are most definitely my favorite group out there.  I have had the pleasure of seeing them twice as of now.  My first time seeing there was almost a year ago in Nashville.  It was the perfect, snowy night and I had 6th row floor seats. I actually cried I was so happy.  I know everyone says this but the lead singer honestly did look me in the eyes and smile...the guy behind me even confirmed it haha.   I saw them later in charlotte in september, but only had lawn seats...still amazing.  I would recommend everyone to go listen to them if you havent heard them. OH! and do NOT listen to use somebody. That song does not even begin to show the talent KOL has.  My personal favorites are back down south, birthday, and cold desert. Seriously listen to them. amazing, breathtaking, and relaxing does not even begin to explain KOL.

All about Lolo...

Okay so I totally forgot to even introduce myself since not everyone knows me. Soooo, my name is Lauren and I have recently turned 21...it truly is awesome. Haha, I'm from Charlotte and started here at ASU fall 2012. I have 5 sisters. Yes. 5 sisters. My parents divorced and remarried different people, so I have 2 sisters in Charlotte and 2 in Georgia. My last sister is at ASU finishing her master's in psych.  I have the cutest dog named Chloe that I'm super excited to see this weekend.  I recently got a job working at basils...check it out.  Hmmm. My favorite color is purple and my lucky numbers are 5 and 13.  Oh! I'm in a sorority which is pretty fun.  I've had some of the best experiences because of it. I've got a boo thang named Joe. He's alright. My very best friend goes to ecu and her name is Lauren...we're Lauren squared. I love pugs and scary movies. If you're ever trying to make me happy, take me to get Mexican food.

So, that was all very random. Ill get more on track. Once I graduate next May I hope to attend UNCG for their master's program. Eventually, I just want to live on a lake with lots of land and babies and pugs and win the lottery. One day...

Family Weekend

This past weekend was exactly what I needed...my family came into town to go tubing.  I absolutely love being here at school and having my freedom, but it is very hard being away from home because of my little sisters.  Emma, 9, and Charlie, 5, can brighten my day at any moment.  Being away from them is a challenge because I swear every time I see them again they've each grown 5 inches taller.  Soooo, having them here was awesome.  Emma already tells me she wants to go to ASU--I love it.  Anyways, we went tubing on Saturday at Hawk's Nest and it was definitely and experience.  The wind gusts were 50 mph and it was snowing nonstop.  Emma was having the time of her life, while Charlie was shivering under all of her layers...haha it was hilarious.  The wind was so strong that I was literally falling over from it.  With all this said, I still had a great time with my family.  We later went out for lunch and it was just really nice spending that time with them.  I love having them come up to Boone and showing them around everywhere.  Also, I'm going home this Sunday for the super bowl, so look out for an update about that.

P.S. Last night my boyfriend made me watch The Interview...probably one of the dumbest movies I've seen, BUT there is the cutest puppy near the end. I want it.
